Bonded xDSLOrganisations often reach a point in their growth when standard ADSL broadband connections no longer effectively support the data communication requirements between their principal and regional offices and remote workers. Managed bonded xDSL represents a viable medium term solution for those who want greater capacity and reliability but don't yet want to commit to a longer term leased line arrangement. Managed Bonded xDSL increases bandwidth by "bonding" together 2, or 4 ADSL or SDSL connections into one virtual 'pipe' in order to gain faster upstream and downstream speeds. Bonded ADSL is available at speeds of up to 24Mbps* downstream and 2.5Mbps* upstream (utilising Annex M technology) per line, but with greater resilience than a single ADSL connection. Any line fault, failure or disconnection is automatically detected and the remaining line(s) continue to provide Internet access/VPN services to and from the managed site without interruption. Lines are automatically re-bonded by the managed router. It particularly suits businesses with Virtual Private Networks who require fast bi-directional speed without committing to a larger infrastructure. Effectively, a PWAN provides the same functionality of a Local Area Network but across multiple geographic locations.
